Privacy Policy for Evacal and TriftGo

This Privacy Policy explains how Evacal ("Evacal", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites (including www.evacal.com) and our mobile applications (including TriftGo).
1) Scope
This policy applies to:
- Evacal websites, including the waitlist form on www.evacal.com
- TriftGo mobile app (navigation + toll optimization + rewards)
- Related services and support communications
2) Information We Collect
2.1 Location information
- Precise location (GPS): When you use navigation, we access your device location to provide routing, guidance, and toll calculations.
- Background location (if enabled): If you enable background navigation features, the app may access location in the background to keep navigation running during long drives.
2.2 Usage and diagnostics
- App events and performance: Basic diagnostics like app version, device/OS information, crashes, and performance metrics to improve stability and reliability.
- Log data: When you interact with our services, servers may receive standard log data such as IP address, request timestamps, and user agent.
2.3 Account and contact information (optional)
- Waitlist email: If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and basic metadata (timestamp, IP address, user agent) to manage the waitlist and prevent abuse.
- Support: If you contact support, we collect the information you provide.
2.4 Microphone / audio permission
Some Android builds may include the RECORD_AUDIO permission. As of the effective date above, TriftGo does not access or record microphone audio for normal navigation.
- If we add voice features in the future (for example voice commands or a “Hey TriftGo” wake phrase), we will use microphone access only when you enable those features. Wake-phrase detection would be designed to run on-device and we would not store or sell raw audio.
- You will be able to disable voice features at any time in settings/device permissions. If enabled, audio may be processed to recognize commands; we do not use microphone access for advertising profiling.
3) How We Use Information
- Provide navigation, routing, toll estimates, and trip summaries
- Improve routing quality (e.g., calibration, traffic adjustments) and app reliability
- Operate and secure our services, prevent fraud/abuse, and troubleshoot issues
- Communicate with you about product updates (e.g., if you join the waitlist)
4) How We Share Information
We may share information in the following ways:
- Service providers: We use vendors to operate our infrastructure and features (for example: hosting, crash reporting, and mapping/routing APIs). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual restrictions.
- Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the public, or our rights.
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5) Data Retention
- Waitlist records are retained as long as needed to provide early access and product updates, or until you request deletion.
- Diagnostic information is retained for a limited period as needed to maintain and improve the service.
6) Your Choices
- Location permissions: You can control location access in your device settings. Some features may not work without location.
- Delete / access requests: You can request deletion of your waitlist record or other account-related data by contacting us.
7) Children’s Privacy
TriftGo and Evacal services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when we make changes.
